The Royal Blenheim

Where: Oxford
Ales on Tap: White Horse
Food: Don't bother
Unique Feature: 50 inch plasma screen!
Notes: Very friendly staff with an owner who has a soft spot for American sports. If you're an ex-pat, find your way to the Royal Blenheim for NFL, NCAA, NHL...or any other "N" you can think of.

The Bear

Where: Oxford
Ales on Tap: Fuller's
Food: Standard pub fare (good sausage with mustard mash - try it!)
Unique Feature: One of the oldest pubs in England, dating back to the 1200's.

Notes: Classic old pub, with very low ceilings, a small bar, a big fireplace and only a few seats. INCREDIBLE tie collection: most walls and ceilings are covered with clippings of college ties donated over the last 200 years. Each tie is labeled with the patron's name, college and date of donation. Although, there is a tie from the University of Oklahoma...a bad apple in every bunch!

Head of the River

Where: Oxford
Ales on Tap: Fuller's
Food: Standard pub fare
Unique Feature: Really wonderful out door patio, right on the river

Notes: Great place to take friends from out of town; wonderful place for a sunny afternoon; not the place I'd go to spend time on a regular basis.
